The Unwritten Rules Series

The Unwritten Rules Series

Unwritten Rules is a series to help those who struggle with uncertainty and doubt at the beginning of their IBM careers.

We feel the majority of IBMers struggle with uncertainty and doubt at the beginning of their IBM careers until they find something that hooks them into participating naturally in the culture.

It's a vast place with many types of success, and many pathways to achieve it. We want to collect the knowledge and behaviors that worked for people who came before us in their time working, adapting, and finding success here. We call those things the "unwritten rules" of joining IBM's culture and community, and we set out to distill them from the stories and experiences of the well-adapted IBMers working around us.

Together with Jay Morgan, we host and produce the Unwritten Rules podcast series. We track down well-adapted IBMers and sit down with them and have open and honest conversations about how they found their way and success at IBM. We distill their stories and experiences into the Unwritten Rules, each interview building on the next. We are socializing our findings and building an Unwritten Rules community to support IBMers struggling with uncertainty and doubt at the beginning of their careers at IBM.

Currently, the content is available only to internal IBMers, but you can read more about our story on Medium.

Really great set of discussions.
